The site already sells the idea of a pickle as a gift. These are the Christmas version: ten pickle-shaped covers on a six-foot warm-white string, indoor only, two AA batteries not in the box. The lights themselves are ordinary. The pickles are the reason anyone unwraps them in front of other people. At $18.75 they sit under the usual white-elephant cap and they read as a decoration from across a room, which is the test that matters in that game. They are not a replacement for a tree's main lights. Six feet is a mantle, a shelf, or a doorway. Hang them and the joke is done.
